About Sunflower Soap Company:

The Sunflower Soap Company is located in the piney woods of Desoto Parish, Louisiana in a small country town known as Frierson. It is here that I live with my cats and dogs and all the wildlife you can imagine. I am a graphic artist by profession, but I have always been into various crafty things. When my children were young, my mother and I started a bakery business. She did the baking, I did the decorating. We never had to advertise, but our company grew with leaps and bounds in no time at all. I found myself creating works of art on cake tops and even sculpted cakes in every imaginable idea that people brought to me. We also created wedding cakes that were truly masterfully engineered works of art! My dad was an ironworker and knew what it took to make a building stand strong. He was the genius that made certain that all the multiple layer cakes had the power to hold up through the delivery as well as through the wedding reception serving. I think it was my love of this sculpting and creating with cake that lead me to the soap business.  I started making soap back in 1996 as Christmas gifts for my family. I started out with the simple melt and pour projects. I was immediately hooked! But that was too easy. I quickly moved on to more detailed formulations and began making unusually shaped soaps that resembled things like cookies, cakes, and the like. I then discovered soap loaf making. I found that I could create something unique and beautiful with every loaf variety that I molded. Before I knew it, I had tons of soap to sell. I set up a booth at a local mall during the Christmas season and sold slices off of the fresh loaves. I created loaves that smelled like fruits, baked goods, designer fragrances, and much much more. It was such a hit that I branched out into selling my soaps at craft shows, flea markets, trade days, and festivals around Northwest Louisiana, Southern Arkansas and East Texas. I also began selling my soaps on Ebay and through the encouragement of friends, I started this website. Sunflower Soap Company soaps are fragrantly rich, very skin loving, and luxurious. All of my soaps are lovingly handcrafted from natural ingredients such as glycerin, cold pressed oils, aromatherapy grade essential oils, and herbs. Their unique designs are often one of kind. But the quality always remains consistent.

You won't find detergents, rendered animal fats, artificial preservatives, hydrogenated oils, or petroleum products in my soap products.

My products are all produced in small controlled batches to assure consistent quality. My dedication to quality is reflected in every single bar of soap that I produce.

My products have been tested by me, my friends, family and my own pets prior to marketing them to the public. And in all these years of soapmaking I am proud to say I haven't had the first complaint. So Sunflower Soap Company must be doing something right!
